Over $2.5 Million Approved for Road Improvements by Anderson County Council

The Anderson County council has approved over $2.5 million for road improvements in Williamston and Pelzer. The Roads and Bridges Department will repave or resurface numerous residential roads, with work involving cutting out bad sections, strip patching, and laying new asphalt. The life cycle of a road typically lasts 20-30 years. The repairs will enhance safety for residents and school bus drivers. Before construction begins, crews will test the roads to ensure quality. Work is expected to start between April and November, with completion by December 2025. A public meeting for comments will be held in May at SC Works Anderson.
