Over 25 Businesses looking to fill over 150 Jobs at Job Fair

The Oconee Economic Alliance and the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce are teaming up to present “The Oconee Job Fair” at the Shaver Complex in Seneca on Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017 from 4pm until 7pm. This event is designed to expose those seeking a job, or perhaps a new job, to that opportunity based in Oconee County. Over 25 businesses will be in attendance to showcase that they have over 150 jobs needing to be filled. “Our desire is to make people aware of the jobs currently available. Along with successful economic development ushering in many new jobs, our community has been blessed with positive growth within our local economy that is yielding new opportunities for people to take advantage of,” stated Richard Blackwell, Executive Director of the Oconee Economic Alliance. “Our combined intent is to connect employers that are in Oconee County with folks that are unemployed or underemployed, not only in the Oconee County area but throughout our labor shed that extends into northeast Georgia,” commented Vanessa Penton, Executive Director of the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce. Oconee County based businesses, whether large or small, are encouraged to reserve a vendor table in order to make their available jobs known and possibly conduct on-site interviews to get them filled quickly. “If a company has a job available we want them to come and participate in this event, make it known that they’re hiring, take resumes, take applications, maybe even put them through an interview process because the whole goal is to get people into these available jobs,” stated Penton. Blackwell added that, “Oconee County is truly blessed as our community has jobs, we need people to fill them and keep our positive momentum going within our local market.” If you are a business looking for qualified employees and are interested in participating as a vendor, please call 864-882-9769. The Oconee Job Fair, presented by the Oconee Economic Alliance and the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017, from 4pm until 7pm at the Shaver Complex, which is located at 698 West South 4th Street in Seneca.
