Pedestrian killed near Townville

A pedestrian died Sunday night near Townville. So far, the victim has been identified as a 29-year-old Seneca woman. Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis says her name will be released this afternoon, to allow time to notify family members. The woman lost her life shortly after 11:30pm on South Carolina 24 near Coneross Creek Road. According to Addis, a 2011 Toyota Prius headed toward Townville, which was driven by a 16-year-old Townville boy, struck her. The woman is believed to have been walking alone toward the home of a friend. State troopers are investigating.
