Pelzer Man jailed for Grand Larceny

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Pelzer man Friday morning on grand larceny charges. The Sheriff’s Office began an investigation on March 1 after a deputy responded to an address on Wells Highway in regards to a larceny of two guitars and sound equipment. Early in the investigation, it was determined that no forced entry was made into the building. Deputies were able to obtain information on the identity of the suspect in the case as well as the type of vehicle he was driving. An investigator was able to obtain warrants against 27-year-old Joseph William Rosshirt on grand larceny charges. Rosshirt was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center after being picked up at the Greenville County Detention Center. The value of the items taken was around $3,750. So far, investigators have recovered both guitars and an amp. Rosshirt remains at the Oconee County Detention Center on a $10,000 surety bond.
