Photos of Seneca Water Treatment Plant Renovation online

The renovation of Seneca Light and Water’s Treatment Plant is underway and you can now see each step of the project as it takes place. The city is updating progress of this project with periodic picture uploads to its website of the most recent work performed, explains Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander. “We’re actually showing the progress as we go through this project. The Water Plant was built in about 1969 and over the years, we have done several major upgrades but this is a big one. This is the part that we haven’t done, it’s the administration side and we are changing over some of the treatment part of the plant, which we feel like what we are changing to is a lot safer mechanism to be able to treat water.” Mayor Alexander updates progress on the project. “They are doing grading and they are actually getting ready to start pouring footings and start coming up with the building. The project is going extremely well so far, Harper Construction is the contractor there doing the work and they specialize in that.” Mayor Alexander praised Seneca Utilities Director Bob Faires and his staff at Seneca Light and Water for their efforts in the project. “Bob Faires has done an amazing job making sure this project is being done and staying on track. The Engineering Department because we do many things in house. The whole Light and Water Department is to be commended because they just do a great job.” To see periodic picture uploads of work performed in the renovation of Seneca Light and Water’s Treatment Plant, visit the city’s website at www.seneca.sc.us.
