Pickens County wants to help Marijuana Smokers quit

The Behavioral Health Services of Pickens County wants to help marijuana smokers quit. A new treatment study is underway that could become the first FDA approved medication for marijuana addiction. The clinic needs volunteers looking to quit using the country’s number one illicit drug. According to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health, the number of marijuana users between 2007 and 2012 increased from 14.5 million to 18.9 million. The clinical trial in Pickens County is one of six in the United States sponsored by the National Institute On Drug Abuse. The Behavioral Health Services of Pickens County will continue the trial through the end of the year. Everything is kept confidential and the law protects your privacy.
