Pickens Man Charged by DOR with Forgery and False Tax Document

The South Carolina Department of Revenue arrested Six Mile resident Ricardo Antonio Ramos recently on charges of forgery and furnishing a false tax document.

Ramos is accused of filing a state individual income tax return in which he allegedly claimed a $31 thousand credit in February 2019. He also allegedly claimed $988 in income tax withheld when actual holdings totaled $168.

According to the arrest warrant, in May 2019 Ramos altered a W-2 form.

If convicted, he faces a year in prison, a $5,000 fine or both for furnishing a false tax document, and three years and a fine at the court’s discretion, for the charge of forgery.
