Pickens School District Meeting This Evening

The School District of Pickens County is set to discuss its fiscal year 2024-25 general fund budget, totaling over $178 million, during a public hearing this evening before the Board of Trustees’ second reading vote. The budget, which reflects a 7.9 percent increase from the previous year’s $165 million without raising taxes, will maintain the operating millage rate at 110 mills, as confirmed by CFO Matt Owens.

Additionally, the board will deliberate on the FY25 Student Nutrition Services budget, district procurement code and procedures, and the approval of EPIC grant recipients. The session will conclude with an executive session addressing personnel and contractual matters.

Meetings are scheduled to commence at 5:15 p.m. for the Committee of the Whole and at 6 p.m. for the board’s regular meeting, both open to the public and at the district office located at 1348 Griffin Road, Easley.
