Pickens Schools selected for Virtual Engineering Program

The School District of Pickens County is one of eight partner school districts selected for the inaugural year of Accelerate, a new virtual engineering program.  The South Carolina Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics announced the eight partner school districts chosen to participate in the program designed to help high school students jumpstart engineering degrees and careers.  Four to six students will be selected from among the applicants in each district, for a total of 50 students statewide in the inaugural pilot program. The number of schools and students participating in Accelerate will increase annually. The partner districts were selected based on interest, geography and curriculum offered.
