Piedmont Petroleum raises $18K for Safe Harbor

CITGO Marketer Piedmont Petroleum Corporation recently completed a fundraising campaign to support Safe Harbor, a domestic violence agency serving Greenville, Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens counties in South Carolina. The partnership between Piedmont Petroleum and Safe Harbor began after Kenneth Cosgrove, the Vice President of Piedmont Petroleum Corp., toured a Safe Harbor shelter during his time with Leadership Greenville. Cosgrove said, “I’m thankful for Leadership Greenville for introducing me to Safe Harbor. Greenville’s statistics on domestic violence are not acceptable. They must improve and I am very thankful that we were able to help in a small way. Many of our team members and our wonderful customers were very passionate about this campaign. I am thrilled with the results of their hard work.” From November through the end of December 2015, each of Piedmont Petroleum’s 36 Corner Mart convenience stores sold paper butterflies and collected donations for Safe Harbor. The campaign gained momentum very quickly, thanks to the tremendous efforts of the store management team, and was a huge success. On Jan. 11, the team at Piedmont Petroleum presented a check for just over $18,000 to Amanda Manly, Director of Development and Communications at Safe Harbor. “We were blown away by the generosity of everyone at Piedmont Petroleum,” said Manly. “I had the chance to speak to the entire group of over 36 managers at the campaign kickoff, and was so impressed by their energy and enthusiasm to help further Safe Harbor’s mission.” In addition to the in-store campaign, CITGO is making an additional donation up to $5,000 through a special promotion using the new Club CITGO app. Each time a customer visits a Corner Mart location and open their app to redeem the Safe Harbor “deal”, $5 will be donated to Safe Harbor. This special promotion runs through the end of March. So far, nearly $2,500 has been raised through the Club CITGO app.
