Pinwheels at Seneca City Hall raising Awareness

This month, pinwheels are spinning on the lawn in front of Seneca City Hall as part of Child Abuse Prevention Month. Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander is grateful to all the businesses and individuals in the community participating in the April awareness campaign. “I think it is just neat and I appreciate everybody that worked to make that come together. It is a symbol for child abuse and awareness. Every time I see them I think Child Abuse Awareness Month. There should be zero tolerance for it, there is no excuse for a child to be abused. When we hear about abuse of any child, a child a lot of the times doesn’t have the opportunity to speak up for themselves because they are in bad situations. We hope and pray that no child in our community or any community is faced with any dangers.” Help raise public awareness about preventing child abuse and enhancing child well-being in your community. Spread the word, create interest, and encourage those in your network to get involved. To learn more, visit www.projectsafechildhood.gov. Project Safe Childhood is a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched by the Department of Justice. Led by the U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.
