Potential New housing development in Oconee County

The sewer commissioners of Oconee are open to a proposal from a developer to contribute capital instead of paying impact fees. This arrangement will lead to the construction of numerous new apartment-style residences along the Hwy 123 Seneca-Clemson corridor, near the SC 93 university turnoff.

Chris Eleazer, the Executive Director of the Joint Regional Sewer Authority, expressed his approval of the deal to the commissioners. Brent Little, a developer from Dallas, Texas, explained that his company will cover approximately $4 million in sewer infrastructure costs, in lieu of the recently increased impact fees by the JRSA. Little, who is also responsible for the Dockside development across the Lake Hartwell bridge at Clemson, has two properties under contract.

He anticipates that the first development will commence as early as April in the area of the Paws restaurant on 123, followed by a second development near Greenfield Manufacturing…

While there was no opposition from the sewer board, Kevin Bronson of Westminster managed to amend the acceptance. He insisted that he and the rest of the board review Little’s offer in the form of a contract before proceeding.
