Prayer Vigil for Rafting Accident

A public prayer vigil for the recovery efforts of a Tampa, Florida man who apparently died last week on the Chattooga River is scheduled for 7pm tonight at Long Creek Baptist Church, which is located at 151 Academy Road in Westminster.  Organizers want to give people of the community and those participating in this recovery effort the opportunity to come together and pray for the recovery of Mr. Hill and for continued safety for the many rescuers. Thomas Hill, 51, did not surface following his ejection from a commercial raft during a corporate outing of fellow employees of the Sherwin-Williams company in Tampa. He was a sales manager for 27 years and the father of four children. More than 240 rescuers from South Carolina, Georgia, and North Carolina have responded to the incident.
