Prisma Health Revises Visitation Policy Amid Rising Respiratory Illnesses

In response to the increasing cases of influenza and other respiratory illnesses, Prisma Health has announced a revision to its visitation policy, effective from December 27. The move is aimed at safeguarding the health of patients, visitors, and staff within the healthcare facility. The key change in the policy is the restriction on patient visitation by children under the age of 16. This measure is intended to prevent the potential spread of illnesses within the hospital environment. Exceptions to this rule may be made at the discretion of the hospital administration, officals said. While not mandatory, the revised policy advises visitors to wear masks during their visit. Prisma Health has assured that the situation will be continuously evaluated. Necessary adjustments to the visitation rules will be made based on the ongoing assessment of the health scenario.
