Property donated for Seneca Park

One acre of land on East North First Street has been donated to the City of Seneca for the development of a new park. The property donated belonged to the group KTC Associates. Seneca Mayor Pro-tem Ronnie O’Kelley said the park is a good first step in enhancing the city’s entryway into downtown. “That end of town, which is growing very rapidly and it is starting to look really nice down there with the new Hampton Inn and Suites and everything, there is not a lot down there for the public or the children to do. So there has been some land donated to the city and there will be a park go in there, to what degree we don’t know yet. We do know of a nice walking trail that is the beginning of it and we will try to develop it as time moves forward.” A timetable on developing the park was not released; however, plans for a walk trail could be announced later this spring.
