Protect Your Skin against the Summer Sun

Protect your skin from the sun when outdoors this summer. Over exposure to the sun can lead to long-term health consequences. Brandi Samenko, owner of Artistry Hair and Skin in Seneca says coverage is key when protecting from the harmful summer sunshine. “I think the biggest thing is your coverage. If you know you are going to be out for a long period, you have to have coverage. Wear a hat; wear some kind of protection over your skin. Never walk out of your house in the morning without an SPF of some kind.” Drink plenty of water when outdoors this summer and keep an eye on the time you are in the sun, adds Samenko. “Staying hydrated is key, really pay attention to the amount of time you are in the sun. It is easy for us to get on the lake and get on the boat and loose track of time, but if you have that sunscreen in your pocket or you have that hat, put it on. That is the biggest downfall that everybody has is they just don’t remember that their face and skin is just as important as putting on clothes, you have to protect your skin.” To learn other ways to protect your skin from the sun, call Artistry Hair and Skin in Seneca at 864-885-5050.
