Provisional Ballots counted but No Change in Results

Five provisional ballots were counted, but there is no change in the top four vote getters in the 2014 Seneca Municipal Election.  The Oconee County Elections Commission meet to finalize the results of Tuesday’s Seneca City Election. Oconee County Voter Registration and Elections Director Joy Brooks gives the final vote count.  “They had the canvass hearing and there were five provisional ballots to be reviewed and canvassed, those five were counted and added to the totals.  The candidates picked up these numbers: Alewine 2, Arnold 4, Durham 2, Holbrooks 4, Pohl 3, Riley 1, Rozman 2 and Ward 2.  The one through four order did not change.” The final vote total is Joel Ward with 436, Stuart Pohl with 368, Scott Durham with 365, Denise Rozman with 314, Ernest Riley with 311, Robert Holbrooks with 309, Joel Arnold with 306 and Andrea Alewine with 290 votes. After the hearing, a total of 733 voters cast ballots in the 2014 Seneca General Election to fill four seats on the City Council.  Brooks thanked the Oconee County Elections Commission, on an election well done. “I would like to commend our Election Commission; they always operate with the utmost of integrity and honesty.  Being a close race, every thing was witnessed by several members of the media and candidates.  A job well done by the Elections Commission.”  The City of Seneca Council will hold the swearing in ceremony for newly elected council on March 18 at 6pm.  The ceremony will be held in the City Hall Council Chambers.
