Public Art Projects Proposed in Clemson

The City of Clemson’s Art Center is seeking artists or artist teams with experience in creating public art that fosters a unique sense of place to create 2-D artwork for bus shelters in Clemson.

Two departments of the City of Clemson, The Arts Center of Clemson and CATBus are partnering to commission public art that will enrich the community and to improve ridership experience. The City of Clemson is piloting this program with the bus shelter located on Highway 93 next to Sardi’s Den/Goober’s.

Submission must be received by August 20. The Chosen artist will receive $500 and The Arts Center of Clemson will pay for the printing and installation of the artwork, which is expected to be in October or November. Entries will be accepted from artists in Pickens, Anderson, and Oconee counties.
