Public comment sought on Chattooga

Public comment is being sought by the U.S. Forest Service on the 2013 decisions to manage recreation uses on the upper segment of the Wild and Scenic Chattooga River. Officials invite the public to take part in one of two Walhalla meetings. The Forest Services seeks ideas on what to do about campsites, trails, education, and group sizes. Specifically, the Forest Service wants to hear from the public on which campsites and trails to keep or close. The meetings take place at 3pm and 6pm on August 19 at First Baptist Church on East Main Street in Walhalla.
