Public Sentiment on Healthcare not good

Bankrate.com released the results of a poll on public sentiment toward the upcoming open enrollment period for the exchanges made possible through President Barack Obama’s signature Affordable Care Act. Doug Whitman, an insurance analyst for Bankrate.com, gives details. “In our survey more than half of the respondents, 56%, said that they were not to confident or not at all confident that the online health exchanges will work smoothly this time.” Many respondents feel uneasy about technical issues, adds Whitman. “Nearly a quarter of the respondents said that technical issues with the exchanges would be a major problem for the fall and winter enrollment seasons. Nearly half said that what they really fear is that we are going to see much higher prices.” Almost half of all respondents say they are paying more for healthcare now than they were a year ago, concludes Whitman. “45% of consumers say that they are spending more on healthcare than they were a year ago. The Obama Administration is still having trouble getting Americans to believe that the Affordable Care Act is making healthcare affordable.” To read the complete poll on public sentiment toward the Affordable Care Act visit www.Bankrate.com.
