Rain delaying Cleanup of SC Botanical Garden

Rain, rain go away.  That is the sound you will hear coming from a group of volunteers trying to clean up the South Carolina Botanical Garden in Clemson.  The Garden was damaged by a storm last month and heavy rain has been delaying restoration work.  Volunteers have been trying to remove that debris and clean up silt, so rebuilding can begin, but continued rains have flooded any repairs made thus far to the Garden.  The July 13 storm caused more than $200,000 in infrastructure damage along the Natural Heritage Garden trail.  Officials estimate repairing all the damage from the rain could total $500,000.  The Clemson area has received more than 54 inches of rain this year and the normal amount of rainfall is about 44 inches.
