Rain filling Area Lakes

A report from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Upper Savannah River Basin shows rain is filling area lakes.  In November, the Army Corps of Engineers lists lakes Hartwell, Russell and Thurmond at near average levels thanks to recent rains in the southeast region.  Lake Hartwell received more than three inches of rain on November 26 and 27, bringing the total for the month to 4.3 inches, which is two-tenths of one inch short of average. The Corps says because Lake Hartwell got the most rain of the three lakes, the corps will, in the coming weeks, move some of the water down to Lake Thurmond to re-balance the pools.
