Rain forces three games today to crown Dixie Girls State Champs

The final four teams in the two divisions of the 2015 Dixie Girls State Tournament play today for their respective championships. State Tournament Director Phil Parnell gives details. “We will finish the games that are being played now, they are suspend and we will pick them up at 10am Wednesday. We will play the second game scheduled for Tuesday night at 11am and then we will have the championships at 3pm.” Shannon Knight, the Athletic Director for the Seneca Recreation Department said a local team is still vying for their championship. “Westminster is one of our local teams, so I’m sure we will have a good crowd for that game. The game was delayed because of weather, so we will start back at 10am Wednesday and hopefully we will have a good crowd here to watch them.” The eight and under Darlings and the ten and under Angles resume play at 10am today at the Shaver Recreation Complex in Seneca.
