Rain, Rain go Away

Almost a quarter inch of rain fell in Walhalla this morning adding to a wet week in the county seat of Oconee County. U.S. Weather Observer Barbara Wilson gives the latest rain totals from her station in Walhalla. “Just this morning from 7am through about 8:30am that storm gave us about .23 and there was some thunder with that but on Sunday was one inch. Then from last Monday through Saturday was over two inches. So, this last rain event has really lasted over a week.” Despite all the rain, Oconee County remains below normal totals, adds Wilson. “I think we are little less than we should be by this point in time for the year.” January and February were dry months this year and Wilson blames them for the low yearly rainfall totals.
