Rate Hike Up for OJRSA Board Discussion

A 20% rate increase for the municipal members of the Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority is a major topic for this afternoon’s meeting at 4pm of the JRSA board of commissioners. The meeting is being held at the Depot on Main Street in Westminster.

A 20% increase in the charge that Seneca, Walhalla, and Westminster pay to treat their sewage is liable to have a corresponding effect on the city’s charges to their retail customers.

Then, at 5:30pm this afternoon in the same location, the annual members meeting of the JRSA will take place. The mayors and council members who attend are scheduled to receive a “State of the OJRSA” from executive director Chris Eleazer.
