Real Time Video Now Available for Callers to Oconee County 911 Center

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is introducing a new program called “Prepared Live” that uses technology to enhance safety for first responders.

With this program, dispatchers can request information from callers such as location, live streaming video, pictures, and saved video. This information can aid in preserving evidence and provide real-time intelligence to first responders, making their response safer and more efficient.

Callers receive a link via text that allows them to share their location and live stream with the dispatcher, who can then relay important information to first responders. Callers can choose what information is shared and can communicate via text if it’s unsafe to speak.

The technology is designed to prevent further transmission of information after the incident is resolved, and only information the caller wishes to share will be available to dispatchers.
