Record Numbers applying to CU

A record number of 20,600 freshmen have applied for fall semester classes at Clemson University.  The Board of Trustees heard a report from Admissions Director Robert Barkley while on campus for quarterly meetings.  Barkley said the application rate represents a 12% increase over this time last year and another 100 applications are expected by the end of the year. More than 8,000 students have applied for graduate school as well. The board also received a positive update on the university’s The Will to Lead $1 billion capital campaign to support students and faculty with scholarships, fellowships, professorships, top facilities and technology. To date $780 million has been raised, with more commitments to come.
