Record Numbers playing Flag Football in Seneca

Entering its third year in the City of Seneca, a record number of kids have signed up to play flag football. Seneca Recreation Director Rick Lacey says over 100 kids are playing this spring. “We did have record numbers in flag football, roughly around 130 kids signed up for flag football. Baseball is down just a little bit maybe and it is because of the flag football. Overall, we had a few more sign up than we normally do.” The Seneca Recreation Department offers co-ed flag football teams for ages 6-14. This summer the Seneca Recreation Department hosts another state tournament, adds Lacey. “We also have the state tournament for the 7, 8, 9, and 10 age groups for softball. I believe that tournament is the week following July 4.” The winner of the state tournament represents South Carolina in the World Series for Softball.
