Renovations Planned at Tillman Hall

Clemson University is set to begin renovations on Tillman Hall Auditorium in the upcoming fall semester. The Clemson Board of Trustees approved the $11.5 million renovations last month, as the building hasn’t been renovated in over 40 years.

Joe Galbraith, a spokesperson for the university, said that the auditorium will be restored to its earlier form and upgraded to be a multipurpose area for use as both a classroom and an auditorium. The renovations will include repositioning the space, adding more natural light, new seating, HVAC, lighting, and upgrades to the infrastructure.

According to Galbraith, the renovations are necessary due to a shortage of classroom space around campus and the need to update the building’s infrastructure. The auditorium will be closed during construction, which is scheduled to begin in September.
