Rescue from White Water Falls

A rescue from White Water Falls took place Tuesday afternoon. Oconee County Emergency Management Director Chief Scott Krein reports that around 3:30pm, emergency personnel were called to a possible fall at White Water Falls. Oconee County assisted the Glenville/Cashiers Rescue with operations. Two patients were located at the base of the falls and treated for neck and back injuries. A high line was established from the top overlook to the base of the falls, to extricate the patients. The first patient brought to the top was flown to Greenville Hospital for his injuries. The second patient was lifted and taken by ambulance to Oconee Memorial Hospital for her injuries. Both patients were in stable condition when taken to the hospital. All units cleared the scene around 9:30pm. Units on scene were the Salem Rescue Squad, Salem Fire Department, Glenville Cashiers Rescue, Glenville Cashiers Fire, Oconee County Special Rescue, Oconee County Emergency Services and GHS Oconee EMS ALS ambulance unit.
