Revision made to SDOC Calendar

A slight change has been made to the current school calendar in the School District of Oconee County, explains Superintendent Dr. Michael Thorsland. “We pass our school calendar two years in advance just to give families an opportunity to plan. Sometimes we get ahead of the testing schedules that are published at either the state or national levels, which this was. We had one of our inclement weather make-up days planned on a day that turned out to be an AP exam. We didn’t think it would be fair for those students taking that AP test to have to come in on a day off from school, so we slid that inclement weather make-up day from May to April.” Because of the change, the School District of Oconee County’s inclement weather make-up days are Feb. 22, March 25 and April 4.
