Rising Gas Prices

Gas prices are on the rise again. The average national price for a gallon of regular unleaded has jumped 22 cents in the past three weeks, explains publisher of the Lundberg Survey, Trilby Lundberg. “Gasoline prices are up again, in these three weeks the hike is 22 cents and the new average for regular grade is $2.78.” Diesel prices are also on the rise, adds Lundberg. “Diesel averages $2.97 at the pumps and it is up seven cents over three weeks.” Lundberg gives the reasons for the rise in gas prices. “Some of this price hike was from crude oil, which is up on a weaker dollar and some was refining interruptions here in the U.S. with California the most extreme.” Lundberg tells if gas prices will keep going higher. “If crude oil stays in the neighborhood where it is at now and since the higher prices in California are attracting gallons from elsewhere, I think the chances are good that we will have just a few more cents rise or maybe even none at all.”
