Rosa Clark Clinic celebrates 30 Years

For the past 30 years the Rosa Clark Medical Clinic in Seneca has been serving the citizens of Oconee County, who might otherwise be unable to afford medical care.  Thursday evening, the clinic held a special invitation only birthday party with local dignitaries.  Vicki Thompson, executive director of the Rosa Clark Medical Clinic gives the history of the clinic.  “Rosa Clark has been here since November 10, 1982 when a small group of people decided to step up and meet a very great need in the county.  We were so excited last night to have the 30 year celebration here at the clinic.  We had a lot of people to come.  Oconee County Auditor and Rosa Clark Board Member Ken Nix was able to give the history of Rosa Clark and Oconee Medical Center CEO Jeanne Ward was kind enough to talk about Rosa Clark and its importance in the community.  We are the oldest free clinic in the state, having just celebrated the 30 years and it was just a very exciting evening for all of us here.”  So far this year, the Rosa Clark Medical Clinic has served 3,753 patients.
