The Central Clemson Recreational Center hosted the first philanthropic event to kick-off the S.M.O.O.O.T.H. (Speaking Mentally, Outwardly Opening Opportunities Toward Healing) Incorporated foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending the cycle of domestic violence by education and empowering women and children through mentoring, lecturing, outreach activities and motivational speaking. Together with local and national sponsors, S.M.O.O.O.T.H was able to provide local children with over 400 book bags and over 500 bags of school supplies such as crayons, pencils, notebooks and markers, as well as food, educational speakers and booths promoting self-defense, anti-bullying and higher education opportunities. S.M.O.O.O.T.H. estimates that over 1,000 attendees including parents and children were able to attend the event. Hopkins and his mother started the S.M.O.O.O.T.H.
