Salem Traffic Fatality

A 75-year-old Salem woman died Saturday at Greenville Memorial Hospital after being hospitalized for injuries in a two-vehicle accident. Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis reports that the accident took the life of Carol Hunter. It occurred around 11am Saturday morning, as she was a passenger in a car driven by her husband, Samuel O’Dell Hunter. According to the coroner, the accident involved a second vehicle and occurred as the Hunter car attempted to make a turn. Mrs. Hunter was first treated at Oconee Memorial Hospital where it was determined she had a cervical vertebrae fracture. State troopers are investigating the two-vehicle crash.
