Sandvik announces $12M expansion in OC

Sandvik is expanding its operations in Oconee County.  The manufacturer of carbide inserts for the metal cutting industry and subsidiary of the Swedish company Sandvik, AB announces that the $12 million investment is expected to increase the company’s production at its Westminster facility. Sandvik is a high-technology engineering group with advanced products and a world-leading position in three core areas: tooling, mining and construction, and materials technology. The company creates products and carbide inserts that are used in mechanical engineering, automotive, oil and gas, and aerospace applications. Sandvik’s Westminster Production Unit currently employs 303 associates.
