SC Flu Death Toll rises

More South Carolina deaths are being blamed on influenza this season.  The death toll due to the flu is on a steady rise in the PalmettoState. The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control reports five flu deaths last week, bringing the season’s death toll to 54 people. Two of the persons who died last week were over 65 and two of the reported flu deaths have been children. More than 1,400 people have been hospitalized with the flu in South Carolina since the flu season started in September.  Around 30,000 cases have been reported across the state.
