SC Foothills Heritage Fair opens Tuesday

The South Carolina Foothills Heritage Fair, what an old-fashioned county fair should be, opens this week, Sept. 30 – Oct. 5, 2014. The fairgrounds are located at 178 Hayfield Road in Westminster, on Highway 123 between Seneca and Westminster.
The Fair kicks off Tues., Sept 30 from 4-9pm with Praise and Worship Night. Free admission to all those who make a non-perishable food donation. (Suggested donation is four items per adult and two per child) 100% of gate admission and food donations will benefit the Golden Corner Food Pantry. At 5pm, Mr. Twister the Clown performs on the Seneca Stage and the 4H Dog Obedience Show takes place in the Livestock Arena. At 5:30pm is the Antique Tractor Parade of Power. From 6–8pm, a Praise and Worship Service is scheduled for the main tent. Carnival rides are $15 with an unlimited ride band from 4-9pm.
On Wed., Oct. 1, from 4-9pm, the Fair holds Senior Day with ages 55 and up admitted for only $2. At 4pm, the USBCHA Herding Dog Trials take place in the main arena, at 5:30pm is the King Arthur Flour Baking Contest in the Exhibit Hall, at 6pm is the Antique Tractor Parade of Power, at 6:30pm Mr. Twister the Clown performs in the Seneca Stage, at 7pm is the Honey Tasting Contest in the main tent, at 7:30pm is the Baking Contest Auction in the main tent with proceeds to benefit Dot’s Kitchen. Carnival rides are $20 with an unlimited ride band from 4-9pm.
Thur., Oct. 2, from 4-9pm its FFA and 4H Day with $1 admission with your membership card. At 5:30pm, Colt Starting with Tinker Moffett performs in the Round Pen. At 6pm, the Goat Show takes place in the Livestock Arena as well as the Antique Tractor Parade of Power. Then at 6:30pm, it is Tractor Games and Demonstrations in the Main Arena and Mr. Twister the Clown on the Seneca Stage. Wrestling takes place in the Main Tent at 7pm. Carnival rides are $20 with an unlimited ride band from 4-9pm.
Fri., Oct. 3, the Fair adds an hour, so activities are from 4-10pm. At 5pm, the Dairy Show takes place in the Livestock Arena. At 5:30pm, Colt Starting with Tinker Moffett plays in the Round Pen. At 6pm, the Beef Cattle Show is in the Livestock Arena and the Antique Tractor Parade of Power reeves up. At 6:30pm, Tractor Games and Demonstrations takes place in the Main Arena. At 6:30pm, Mr. Twister the Clown takes the Seneca Stage. At 7pm, Wrestling returns to the Main Tent. At 8pm, Clogging on the Seneca Stage. Carnival rides are $20 with an unlimited ride band from 4-10pm.
On Sat., Oct. 4, the Fair runs from 10am to 10pm. It starts at 10am with the Pig Show in the Livestock Arena and the Rabbit Show takes place in the 4H Tent. At 11am is the Antique Tractor Parade of Power. At 11:30am, Mr. Twister the Clown takes the Seneca Stage. At noon, the Draft Horse Pull takes place in the Main Arena. At 12:30pm, Shades of Blue Band performs on the Seneca Stage. At 2pm another Antique Tractor Parade of Power and at 2:30pm, Shades of Blue Band plays again on the Seneca Stage. At 3:30pm, it is the Wild West Show in the Main Arena. At 5:30pm, Mr. Twister the Clown is back on the Seneca Stage. At 6pm, another Antique Tractor Parade of Power. At 6:30pm, Jeremiah’s Call Band on the Seneca Stage. At 7:30pm, the Wild West Show in the Main Arena. At 8pm, another Antique Tractor Parade of Power. Carnival rides are $15 with an unlimited ride band from noon to 5pm. Carnival rides are $20 with an unlimited ride band from 5-10pm.
The Fair concludes on Sun., Oct. 5 from 1-8pm with Blue Ridge Electric Day; show your Blue Ridge Connections Card for $1off admission. At 2pm is the Antique Tractor Parade of Power, at 2:30pm is Bobby and The All-Stars performing in the Main Tent, at 3pm it’s the Wild West Show in the Main Arena. At 4pm, Elevation Dance Company takes the Seneca Stage. At 5:30pm, it’s Colt Starting with Tinker Moffett in the Round Pen, at 6pm the Antique Tractor Parade of Power, at 6:30pm Mr. Twister the Clown entertains on the Seneca Stage and at 7pm Elevation Dance Company takes the Seneca Stage. Carnival rides are $20 with an unlimited ride band from 1-8pm.
Laser Tag Games will be going on daily during Fair hours. Donations benefit the Seneca and West-Oak FFA chapters. Cotton gin, wheat thresher and hay baler demonstrations throughout the day. Admission is $5 for adults with Kindergarten – College students admitted for $3 and Pre-school children admitted free. Discounts are available for Active Military and Family for $1.
