SC seeing increase in Moped Deaths

South Carolina has more than doubled the number of deadly moped crashes the state saw at this time last year. According to the South Carolina Department of Public Safety, the state experienced seven deadly wrecks involving mopeds in 2013. By comparison, in 2014, South Carolina reports 18. Currently, state law does not require registration or a driver’s license to own and operate a moped. In the Upstate, Anderson County leads the state with four deadly moped crashes so far this year.
