SCDOT Commission Approves 2024 Pavement Improvement Plan

The South Carolina Department of Transportation Commission approved the Agency’s 2024 Pavement Improvement Program by adding another $775 million to the previously invested $2.8 billion in pavement improvements across the state of South Carolina since the Strategic 10-Year plan was implemented.

This is the seventh year of an accelerated pavement improvement program and this action by the Commission adds another 877 miles of roadway to the more than 8,000 miles of ongoing road work. The Agency’s Strategic 10-Year Plan was implemented after a significant increase in funding provided by the General Assembly in the 2017 Roads Bill.

In Oconee County, SC-11, SC-130/Rochester Hwy and SC-183/Pickens Hwy, as well as South Fairplay and North Oak Streets are slated for rehab, while Sam Brown Road is set to receive 4.35 miles of reconstruction.

In Pickens County, College Ave., Dacusville Hwy and Farrs Bridge Road, as well as Fleetwood Drive, West Cedar Rock Street and Monroe Street are all getting rehab, while Chastain Road will undergo approximately three miles of reconstruction.

And in Anderson County, SC-20, US-29 Business, South Murray Street/SC-81, US-76, SC-252, Bellview Road, Old Pearman Dairy Road, Cannon Bottom Road, Chris De Lane, McNeely, Fisher and Cartee Roads will all see rehab work, according to the SCDOT.
