SDOC announces Graduation Ceremonies

The School District of Oconee County holds graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2015 with three services on Friday, explains Oconee County Schools Assistant Superintendent of Instruction Ginger Hopkins. “We will have a very busy day, we will start out at 8:30am at West-Oak High School out on the football field, and then we will head over to Seneca High School for a 10:30am graduation. That evening we will be at Tamassee-Salem High School with a graduation at 7pm that will be inside and then on Saturday morning we will be at Walhalla High School with a graduation at 9am.” The Adult Education Class for the School District of Oconee County graduates six tonight in the auditorium of Seneca High School, adds Hopkins. “These are folks that often times are working or dealing with other situations, had their educations interrupted for reasons that I’m sure were difficult and still are committed to getting their educations. They find ways to get over the Adult Education Program use the online service and work through the whole system. So, we are excited about this opportunity to celebrate with these folks. Sometimes you even see folks come through that are in their silver years, it’s never too late for someone to go back to schools and get that GED or get that certificate.” West Oak, Seneca and Walhalla hold graduation ceremonies in their football stadiums. If there is rain Saturday morning, Walhalla will move its ceremony into the gymnasium of the new high school on Highway 11.
