SDOC Board of Trustees to Evaluate Superintendent and Tour New Seneca Middle School Site

Even though school is out for summer, Oconee school trustees still have work to do. On Monday, they have a full day planned, starting with a tour of the new middle school construction in Seneca in the afternoon, followed by a planning session and board retreat. In the evening, the five trustees will reconvene for their June meetings, where they will conduct the final reading of the proposed budget for the 2023-24 year, which exceeds $100 million. Additionally, behind closed doors, the trustees will conduct their annual evaluation of Superintendent Dr. Michael Thorsland. After last year’s evaluation, the board granted Thorsland a two-year contract extension and a raise equivalent to other district employees.
