SDOC celebrates 11 at Summer Graduation

Hard work and determination pays off for eleven students in Oconee County. On the first day of a new school year, the School District holds a special summer graduation ceremony at 6pm in the auditorium of Seneca High School. Oconee County Schools Superintendent Dr. Michael Thorsland gives details. “The graduates in this ceremony are students that were not quit successful last spring. They are students who were seniors last school year, they may have come up just a unit, credit, or two short, and then they spent the summer time getting that credit that they need. We just feel it is very important to honor those students. High school graduation in our society is a very important thing for an individual, so we wanted to make sure that these students had an opportunity to walk across the stage and shake their principal’s hand.” Congratulations to these eleven new graduates from the School District of Oconee County.
