SDOC hears New Hire Report

This week the School District of Oconee County welcomed 90 new employees as teachers returned to the classroom on Tuesday. Oconee County Schools Superintendent Dr. Mike Lucas presented the Board of Trustees this year’s new hire report at their meeting this week.  “Last week, we had our first year teachers begin, there are 27 new teachers in the district who are brand new induction level teachers and they had courses last week.  However, a total of ten new hires, they are split between young teachers about 40, and then we have some teachers who are more experienced, we brought back a few retirees and different things to help us out.  But we have hired everyone and were excited that students will start next Tuesday.” To learn more about the start of a new school year in the School District of Oconee County, visit www.oconee.k12.sc.us.
