SDOC presents Choral Clinic

The School District of Oconee County will present its annual All-County Choral Concert on Tuesday, October 7 at 7:30pm at Seneca Baptist Church in Seneca, South Carolina. 180 middle and high school students selected by their teachers from the Oconee County schools will present a program of choral music under the leadership of Dr. Robert Holquist, Professor Emeritus of Music at Western Carolina University. Mrs. Masheila Cobb, teacher at Seneca High School, will be his accompanist. Middle school students will perform “Celebrate and Sing!’ by Farnell, “Blades of Grass and Pure White Stones”, arranged by Christopher, “Congoma”, arranged by Beery and Dekaney and “Witness” arranged by Halloran. Middle school choral directors are Carla Brock, Cory Chitwood, Christopher Hulsey and Jessica Thrift. Selections by high school students will be “Honor and Glory” by J. S. Bach, “Still I Rise”” by Powell, “Dulaman”” arranged by Early and “Let Everything that Hath Breath” by Ames. High school choral directors include Sherry Collins, John Fallon, Diane McFarlane and Jessica Thrift. Ginger Hopkins, Assistant Superintendent of Instruction for the School District of Oconee County, will be the Mistress of Ceremonies. The public is invited to attend and support the school district’s fine arts programs. Admission is free.
