Search ends for Missing Mtn. Rest Woman with Discovery

Oconee County Sheriff’s Office personnel discovered the body of a female Wednesday afternoon at approximately 3pm. The sheriff’s department and other agencies with Oconee County have been searching for a missing Mountain Rest woman, 28-year-old Mandy Nichole Brewer, who was last seen Saturday at her home on Trillium Drive. The body of a female, fitting the description of Brewer, was found approximately two-miles from her home off Ross Mountain Road and approximately 20-yards off the gravel road in a wooded area. Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis reports that the preliminary scene investigation suggests she died from a self- inflicted gunshot wound.
