Second Arrest in Assault & Battery by Mob Investigation

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office made a second arrest last Friday afternoon in a recent investigation. 39 year old Brian Keith Roach of Walhalla was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on one count of Assault and Battery by Mob – 2nd Degree. Back on May 5th, deputies began an investigation into an incident that occurred on Sweetbriar Trail near Westminster in which Roach and another man, 40 year old Terry Brandon Ramey, allegedly participated in an assault which caused a head injury to the victim. Ramey was also charged with one count of Assault and Battery by Mob – 2nd Degree in the incident. Ramey was arrested and booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on Wednesday, May 6th. Deputies also charged Ramey with Theft of Electrical Current after deputies discovered a wire that was connected to a residence, even though power to the residence had been disconnected by the utility company. Ramey was additionally served an outstanding arrest warrant in regards to a separate investigation as well as four outstanding General Sessions Bench Warrants and one Family Court Bench Warrant. Roach was released from the Oconee County Detention Center last Friday on a $10,000 personal recognizance bond. At this time, Ramey remains in custody at the Detention Center on a combined $13,212.50 surety bond.
