Second Polling Location talks underway in Seneca

Talks about a second polling location in the City of Seneca are underway. At their work session meeting Tuesday night, the Seneca City Council heard that Oconee County Voter Registration and Elections Director Joy Scharich would address council next month about adding the Gignilliat Community Center. “We are going to talk at our next work session with Joy and if it would make voting easier and less complicated, I would be for it. I want to hear what she has to say to make sure that people will understand I either go here or to the other location, you don’t want them to be confused. I’m sure she has those details worked out because she is very good at what she does, so we will meet with her at the next work session and she is going to go over her ideas of what we can do to make voting easier for citizens.” Seneca Mayor Pro-tem Ronnie O’Kelley said talks would examine wait times during recent elections at the city’s current polling location at the Shaver Recreation Complex.
