Seneca acquires Sixth CAT Bus at Big Savings

At their regular monthly meeting Tuesday night, the Seneca City Council approved the purchase of a new all-electric CAT bus. This time the city got a big discount. Instead of paying $900,000 for a new bus, the city is paying $100,000 for a slightly used model, explains Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander. “Proterra actually had an engineer bus; it is one that we have used through this whole process as far as going through all the testing and stuff. We were able to acquire that bus, so that gives us six buses for our fleet.” The city saves an estimated $800,000 in the purchase of the new all-electric CAT bus built by Proterra in Greenville.
