Seneca applying for DOT Grant to fund N. 1st Street Project

Looking to improve one of the entrances into the city, Seneca is applying for a million dollar TIGER Grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation. “We have wanted to try to do the North 1st Street project coming from Ingles into town. This is a million dollar grant that we are applying for and they are putting that together. We are just hoping that we have an opportunity to maybe awarded that grant and be able to do that project on North 1st Street that we have been wanting to do for a long time.” Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander said that Planning and Community Development Director Ed Halbig, who is writing the application for the city, would submit the grant to the federal government this week.
